Jeremy S. Thompson

Jeremy S. Thompson is a native of Louisville, MS where he began his journey in music at the age of five as a pianist for St. James Presbyterian Church. From elementary school onward, Thompson participated in the Louisville Municipal School District’s band programs. Upon graduation from Louisville High School, Thompson attended the historic Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, AL. At Stillman, he was actively involved in all aspects of campus life. Thompson was a member of the Stillman College Concert Band, the Jazz Consortium, and the Blue Pride Marching Band, where he served as the student director and arranger. Thompson graduated at the top of music department with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music with a trumpet performance concentration. Following Stillman, Thompson attended the University of Mississippi for graduate studies. While there, he worked for the office of multicultural affairs as the advisor to the Grammy nominated University of Mississippi Gospel Choir. Thompson completed Ole Miss with a Master of Music, concentrating in Music Education. Thompson has dedicated his life to music and music education. He believes that all children deserve access to quality music making experiences and through those experiences become life long enthusiasts and purveyors of music.
